Hump at Kedarnath-According to the myth Lord Shiva having been pleased by Pandavas determinations and freed their sin and asked them to worship his hump at Kedarnath. It is highest among the twelve Jyotirlings.Kedar is another name of lord shiva.
This temple also known to be the remotest site in all chardhams.
Face (mukha) at Rudranath- At this shrine the face of lord shiva is worshiped as Neelkanth Mahadev. This is 20 kms on foot from Gopeshwar and located at an altitude of 2286m . Hathi parvat, Nanda Devi, Trishula and other peaks are visible from here. Suraj Kund, Tarakund etc are situated here.Rudranath has a small rivulet called vaitarni.
Its altitute is 2286 meters above m. s. l.
Navel (nabhi) at Madmaheshwar- When Lord Shiva disappeared at Kedarnath, the navel reappeared at Madmaheshwar. A beautiful Shiva temple is located here adding to the magnificence of these loftly mountains. It is 30 kms from Guptakashi, the entire route on foot.
Its altitude is 3289 meters above m. s. l.
Arms (bahu) at Tungnath- The famous Shiva temple is located at the crest of a hill. The arms of lord Shiva at this place. According to myth,the peak of Tungnath is the source of three springs that forms Akaas kamini.From this place, tourist can see through naked eyes the peaks of Bandar Poonch, Nanda devi, Panch chuli, Dunagiri, Neelkanth and Kedarnath. Tourists may stay at rest houses and Dharamshalas at a place five kms before Tungnath which is named Chopta.
Its height is 3680 meters above m. s. l.
Hairs (jata) at Kalpeshwar- Around 14 kms prior to Joshimath, there is place called Helang on the highway. From Helang there is one trekking route about 9 kms after crossing river Alaknanda. The jata(hair) of lord Shiva are worshipped at this small rock temple, whose entrance is through a cave, which is situated at the height of 2134m at Urgam vally.
Its altitude is 2134 meters above m. s. l.
